A specific RUM campus ministry is called RUF (Reformed University Fellowship). We are pleased to support a new work in Mobile on the campus of USA.
Presbyterian Churches traditionally subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith, written by the Westminster Assembly (more than 100 of the brightest and most pious minds England) in the 17th century. Not everyone would agree that the PCA subscribes as rigidly as it should, but we certainly make an honest effort to take the Confession seriously. The Confession is accompanied by the Larger and Shorter Catechisms.
A Ministerial Fraternal for the Advancement of the Kingdom through the ordinary means of grace. We start looking forward to next year on the way home!
There’s no one right way to read the Bible, but if you’re looking for a systematic approach that gets you through the whole Bible, you might try M’Cheyene’s plan. M’Cheyene was a minister in the Church of Scotland in the 19th century. Reading from four different books of the Bible every day, you read the Old Testament once a year, the Psalms and Proverbs and additional time per year, and the whole New Testament twice as well.
There are lots of great places on the ‘net to get books. We check the bookstore at Westminster Theological Seminary first. You can trust them not to stock anything you shouldn’t read, Amazon has trouble beating their prices, and shipping is fast and often $1 or less.
CE&P is a permanent committee of the General Assembly tasked with conducting conferences and other educational events, as well as providing the denomination and world-at-large with great materials. I heard they’re planning to try out free shipping on orders over a certain amount to see if it generates sales. Support the ministry of the PCA and get some great books at the same time (maybe with free shipping!) Check out the CE&P online bookstore.
